Onyeizu Chinedu Chimaeze

Engr Chinedu Chimaeze Onyeizu, a world renowned petroleum engineer, philanthropic, oil magnate, and politician, was born on 23rd November 1980 at Aba City, Abia State of Nigeria. Onyeizu graduated in petroleum engineering with a second class upper division from the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Nigeria.

He further attended Heriot-Watt University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Harvard University. An MIT-Sloan Fellow, Onyeizu worked with the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) where he was a research associate. Shortly after, he got employed by Chevron Nigeria Limited in 2007 as a Reservoir Simulation Engineer.

He later transitioned to other jobs in the oil and gas industry including being an operations engineer, managing over 130 oil and gas wells in Chevron Niger Delta offshore assets. Presently, he is into consulting with multinational oil companies, and is the CEO of CVN Global Links Ltd. Onyeizu is overseeing the realization of the Abia Investment Innovation Park, a multi-million dollar project.

Onyeizu was the Labour Party’s senatorial candidate in Abia South senatorial district in the February 25, 2023 presidential and national assembly elections, an election he won by landslide, but had his victory denied.
